Deborah Priya Henry born on July 7, 1985 was crowned 2007 Miss Malaysia World and represented the country at Miss World 2007. She made in into semi-finals for the first time after 1998 Miss Malaysia World, Lina Teoh about nine years ago.
Born in Dublin, this gorgeous beauty moved back to Malaysia to receive early education in Sayfol International School, Kuala Lumpur. Comes from a mixed parentage, Malaysian Indian father and Irish mother, Deborah Henry is not only blessed with good looks and striking figure but also brains.
When she was in school, Deborah was relatively active in sports such as basketball and volleyball. She even received ‘Sportswoman of the Year’ from the International School. Prior to her full-time career as a model, she graduated from the University of Queensland, Brisbane with two degrees in Political Science and Economics.
Perhaps, you’ll also notice that Deborah is an activist to fight for human rights advocacy in an effort to eradicate the poor. She is the founder of ‘Open Doors’ (a charity body).
Modelling for big brands since age 15
Deborah joined modeling since she was 15. Three years later at the age of 18, she modeled in England for approximately one year before expanding her career in England. She has done runway shows for Dior, Gucci and Zang Toi.
She can be seen throughout Malaysia and London’s runway show for international brand names such as YSL, Emmanuel Ungaro, Bernard Chandran, Ton Abang Saufi, Ferragamo, Fendi and De Gem. She has also starred in TV commercials for Perodua, Celcom and several products in China – shower gel, Chinese medicine and thermal wear.
She appears regularly as an emcee for events in Malaysia such as Malaysian International Fashion Awards, Hap Seng F1 dinner night, The World Vision 30 hour famine, Celcom Campaign Launch and Islamic Fashion Festival week. She made her acting debut in Randomania which is aired on gua.com.my and a music video ‘Itu Kamu’ by Estranged.
